SenehiSenehi Sonowal shares euphorically “IGSSS has given me hope for survival and has provided me the strength to think for a better future of my daughter.”

Senehi hails from Rotuwa village in Dhemaji, which is one of the worst flood affected districts of Assam.  The 2008 flood washed away her house along with her belongings. In the span of a single day she was rendered homeless. Being a daily wage labourer, it was impossible for her to rebuild her house. Besides, she is the sole bread winner of her family, comprising herself and her little daughter. Senehi’s husband passed away several years back.

IGSSS helped her in building new house under the project Restoration and Reconstruction supported by Misereor. She was also provided with necessary household materials like buckets, mugs, and hygiene kits. Senehi is happy and thankful for the shelter and security assured by IGSSS to her and her daughter.
