Nature of initiative: Partnership
Start date of the project: 1 st April 2018 to 31 st March 2019
Brief Intro of the project:
Sustainable Options for Uplifting Livelihood (SOUL), supported by Misereor, has been implemented by IGSSS since 2013. SOUL has been focusing on improving the livelihood status of rural poor families by reducing their vulnerability and increasing the food security through judicious utilization of natural resources (land, water and forest) and other livelihood assets and by promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
The Project Goal is to enhance the overall wellbeing of the Vulnerable rural communities in India, through the adoption of diversified and climate resilient livelihoods/enterprise, advancements in their nutrition status and more sustainable use of their natural resource base, through Land and Non-Land Based Interventions. Strong Institution Building is the key for all the activities under this project, where the CBO will also engage in enterprise development and look for matching grants from Government Agencies.
