As part of the programme Recovery and Risk Reduction of Flood Affected Community in Lakhimpur district of Assam India implemented with the support of HDFC, a road and bridge was constructed with the support of active community participation. The road was the only source of communication between two villages Borgoya and Paschim kharkati and it was breached by flood waters in 2014.

Around 48 Bamboo sticks were donated by the villagers and students for the construction of the villages

In the absence of the bridge, the school students had to travel by a muddy paddy field and often they would slip and hurt themselves. The bridge provided a safe passage
