Hazaribagh, Jharkhand: IGSSS is implementing a programme,“Provision of Livelihood and Nutrition Security for 1000 Tribal Families (PLANT)” supported by SCIAF in 20 villages of Churchu Block, Hazaribagh district, Jharkhand.
As part of the intervention, street plays (nukkad nataks) were organized in 10 project villages to create awareness about government welfare schemes and entitlements, such as, Janani Suraksha Yojana, Pension Plans, Prime Minister’s Accidental and Medical Insurance scheme, Right to Education, among others.
The street play created a platform for sharing with the community about IGSSS’s intervention in Churchu Block through the PLANT project. The different aspects of the project were discussed in detail with the community.
The ‘nukkad natak’ generated a lot of interest among the community and over 800 villagers participated in this event.
