Odisha and Andhra Pradesh: An impact assessment study of IGSSS project “Community Livelihood Resilience and Humanitarian Assistance in Phailin and Flood Affected Areas of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh” was conducted by I-Concept Initiatives a Bhubaneswar based organization.
The objective behind this impact assessment was to ascertain the participatory impact of the project initiatives and strategies related to community mobilization, climate resilient livelihood practices,convergence and capacity building of CBOs like VDMC (Village Disaster Management Committee) and farmer groups.The study also aimed at tracing the best practices and success stories.
The assessment was conducted in five districts of Odisha namely – Ganjam, Kendrapara, Balasore, Mayurbhanj and Kandhamal and Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh. Focused group discussions and interviews with both the direct and indirect stake holders, community members, farmers, VDMC members and project personnel was used for collecting quantitative and qualitative information. The findings and recommendations of this impact assessment would be formally released very soon at a state level consultation.
