Mr. Javid Chowdhury is a retired Indian Administrative Officer (IAS) from the Gujarat Cadre. He served as the District Development Officer, the District Magistrate and Collector during his stint with the Rural Development Sector. Besides, he held senior positions in the Minerals Administration Sector, in Ministries of Food, Finance (Dept. of Revenue) and Health and Family Welfare. He represented India on the Executive Board for the World Health Organization (WHO) and during this period he also discharged the responsibilities as the Vice Chairman of the Board.Post retirement he worked as a Consultant with WHO in the field of ‘Public Health Policy’. Later, he became associated with several not for profit organizations like FXB India Suraksha, Partners in Change, Voluntary Health Association of India and the Independent Commission on Development and Health in India.
