Livelihood Resilience and Humanitarian Assistance in Phailin and Flood Affected Areas

Demographics –

District – Balasore,Mayurbhanj,Kendrapada,Ganjam,Kandhamal district of Odisha and Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh

State – Odisha and Andhra Pradesh

Target Population – 4200 families



Objectives –

  • Providing tarpaulin to the flood effected families for immediate shelter
  • Providing minimum preventive and curative health services,awareness and disinfectants through health camps
  • Providing winter seeds (groundnut and vegetable seeds) for support to small and marginal farmers
  • Introduction of community based disaster preparedness activities in target villages
  • Provision of safe drinking water in uncovered villages
  • To support, develop, adaptive models (disaster resilient livelihood model), making efficient use of resources
  • To support selective appropriate technology based on low carbon emission to help families in occupational activities as well as providing quality of livelihood
