Setting up kitchen nutrition garden is one of the main focuses to help these vulnerable families get vegetables for nutrition as well as for alternative income purpose. To help these families in starting kitchen gardening, a training program was organized on 27th July 2015 at Surendranagar village of Banarhat Grampanchayat of Dhupguri block, Alipurduar district.

IGSSS representatives as part of a seven member delegation team of Sajha Manch met the Chief Minister of Delhi Mr. Arvind Kejriwal at his office on July 20, 2015. They submitted a 27 points Charter of Demands relating to the issues concerning the people living in slums and resettlement colonies in Delhi.

A recent survey titled, "Community Drug Abuse Study Survey in Kashmir" by a renowned psychiatrist, Dr. Mushtaq Margoob, revealed that there are approximately 24.32 lakh victims of substance abuse in Kashmir, which include 2.11 lakh affected by opium abuse, 1.37 lakh by using cannabis, and around 38,000 alcohol abusers.

IGSSS under its Youth Development Programme conducted two candle making training programmes at the organisation’s unit office in Nyakum Lapang. The purpose was to help the youth acquire knowledge and skill required for occupational exploration and career planning.
